Market Recap
You will miss the boat if you are watching the indices trying to get a feel for what the market will do. Even though the market seems like it is going nowhere, there are many stocks roaring to new highs. In fact, the advance-decline line was 2 to 1 advancing stocks over declining stocks today. This tells us that underneath the surface, the market internals are very strong. Even though the indices seemed sluggish with the Dow up only 23 points, the Nasdaq gaining16 points and the S&P gained just 3 points, it is hardly that.
If you are afraid to take positions because the indices performance or charts are less than impressive, you are missing a lot of good moves in individual stocks. I posted USG and MDR day trades to the message boards that absolutely flew, and they were strong the whole day. I posted them early so you could have had most of the move. These stocks are in the chart section tonight. These are the movers to be in while the market is just going through the motions.
There are so many stocks in the last few days that are either (a) set up to advance, or (b) have blasted out of nice formations and made super moves. You will see this in tonight's chart section. Even if the overall market does not go up, there are many individual stocks and groups that are flying high regardless of the indices. Some of our bulletin stocks that were up big today include: CELL, CRAY, ENER, FNSR, FWLT, HOLX, JOYG, ISRG, MTRX, NENG, and NETL.
Tonight's commentary is brief so that we can bring you this long list of charts. There are so many charts that we could not show them all. The following list are additional stocks with great charts. If we had more room and time, they would be in the annotated charts list tonight. We will try to get to these later in the week, but for now, please check them out for on your own.
