Market Recap
It was another uneventful day for the markets. It seems like the New Years weekend may have started without us. Today was one of the lowest volume days of the year. The tight trading range of the markets today once again proves that without volume, the stock market/stocks cannot move with any conviction. The Dow finished the day down -28 points, the NASDAQ was up +1 point, and S&P was basically unchanged. A quick burst of selling in the last 10 minutes of the session was to blame for the Dow finishing lower. Up until the last 10 minutes, the range of the Dow for the day was less than 30 points. There must have been a few people that just could not wait until tomorrow to sell.
Expect more of the same tomorrow from the major indexes. I can almost guarantee that Sunday's market recap will be very similar to tonight's recap, so please do not get upset if I start to sound like I am repeating myself, lol.
First Bulletin of 2005
Expect many new additions to the bulletin on Sunday in preparation for the increased volume that we should see next week. I also plan to go through our current watch list stocks with a fine-toothed comb to make sure that each one is indeed a stock that has the potential to produce some nice gains for us in the New Year.
Happy New Year!
Tonight's bulletin is the last one for 2004. It is hard to believe that another year has already passed. Instead of talking about a stock sector or an angle on the market, I would like to dedicate tonight's commentary to thanking all of the members of TWPD.
Without getting mushy and teary eyed, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of our great TWPD family. Members, moderators, and support team. I sometimes call TWPD a service, but it is really a family. We are a family of traders that look out for each other as we all pursue our goal of financial freedom. TWPD has come a long way since it started over 18 months ago. In that time, we have traded in a strong market, a weak market, and a sideways market. We learned something new daily that we can all use to make better decisions in the future. I can certainly tell you that I still learn something new each day. In most cases what I learn was in a post that I read on our wonderful message board. It is the interaction between members that makes this what I believe to be the best stock trading site around. TWPD would not be where it is today without the support and input from all of our members. Again, I cannot thank each of you enough for making TWPD the great place that it is and for the final time this year I would like to thank you for your support. Past, Present, and Future!
Holiday greetings from TWPD
From all of us at TWPD, we hope you all have a wonderful holiday season with your family and friends. We would like to wish all our members a very happy New Year. May 2005 be a great year for you and your loved ones.
