Good evening friends,
Market Recap
The markets finished out the short week on Thursday with a decent performance, but it was nothing to write home about. The Dow gained +41 points and closed at the high of the day, the NASDAQ was up +10 points (closing 2 points shy of the HOD and just under that stubborn 2000 level at 1999), and the S&P was up +5 points and closed at the HOD. The volume was well below average for all three of these big indices.
The market continues its trend-less ways, bouncing back and forth, and not knowing from one day to the next which way it wants to go. We should be accustomed to this by now; it has been this way for five months, and it is tough to say where we are headed at this point. With volume lacking as then summer season begins, it will be tough to move this market up without volume. It continues to be a day trader's market. There are some wild swings in the momentum stocks each day that can be very profitable if played correctly.
God Bless President Reagan
The country mourned the loss of former President Ronald Reagan last week. Politics will not be discussed at TWPD because it has nothing to do with stock trading, but no matter how anyone feels about President Reagan's political career, it cannot be denied that he was a great man with amazing personal characteristics. He was always full of enthusiasm and positive energy, and he radiated that positive energy to all of those around him. Ronald Reagan literally changed the world, and in my opinion, he was the best president I have seen or will see in my lifetime. God Bless Ronald Reagan.
I admire people with characteristics and enthusiasm much like those of President Reagan. I have always made it a point to try to be around positive people with a joy for life. People full of enthusiasm with an ability to find something positive about any situation that arises and never complain or be negative. I do not believe in complaints, they do not solve anything. Positive people do not complain, instead they take the action that is necessary to turn a negative situation into a positive one.
I have surrounded myself with positive people over the course of my life and their enthusiasm and energy is contagious – I have caught it. The enthusiasm radiating from our moderators, webmaster, and customer service team is an example of this. They all had the attributes I look for, and they all make TWPD the service it has become today. I thank every member of the TWPD team for their support and drive to make this service a success.
You may ask, “What does this have to do with stock trading”? Well, for people who can not see past their nose, nothing at all, but for the people who have vision and can understand the underlying message, it has everything to do with stock trading. Enthusiastic traders in our family will take this message tonight and use it to benefit them in their every day lives including their stock trading.
Enthusiasm Never Loses
An enthusiastic person is most likely also a very successful person. I have always tried to be as enthusiastic as possible about everything in life, my family, my friends, my hobbies, my church, my stock trading, and especially my dreams and my potential to achieve them. Enthusiasm fuels hope, confidence, and joy. This enthusiasm breeds unique opportunities, sound advice, and valuable resources for those who are looking to succeed in all they do. People gravitate toward other people who are enthusiastic because they radiate positive feelings about any situation and chances are your decision to be around such positive attitudes will lead you to absorb the same enthusiasm and point you in the direction of success. It will also encourage others to follow your lead. Your enthusiasm will spill over to everyone that crosses your path.
I would like to believe everyone in our TWPD family is as enthusiastic about stock trading as I am. Before we started this website, I was enthusiastic about stock trading, it has always been something I enjoyed doing. This same enthusiasm has spread to many members who have joined us and want to learn this potentially wealth building business of trading stocks for a living.
I see your enthusiasm on the message board and in the emails I receive daily. I am so happy that our enthusiasm has spread to you and that you have the desire to learn and become better traders. We have taught a lot of otherwise inexperienced traders to become much better in the short time they have been members. Their enthusiasm and desire to learn and give our service a chance has gained them much experience. Experience that they otherwise would not found had they been satisfied sifting though endless public message board posts to find that 1 in 1000 meaningful message that may actually be helpful and productive.
We will continue to spread our enthusiasm to many other inexperienced traders in the hopes that they to will learn and become successful. Enthusiasm is the most valuable thing you can posses and I hope that you make enthusiasm your forte in every aspect of your life. I am confident that if you do, you can not possibly lose. Friends, I have never met an enthusiastic loser.
